Foggara is a photobook exploring the underground water systems of the Algerian Sahara through scientific inquiry and artistic interpretation. We combined original photographs made for the project with archival images, maps and visual compositions to make this largely unseen infrastructure accessible while preserving its visual and sensory dimension. Through the book, we invite readers to understand how the foggara works and appreciate the landscape it sustains.
